Stencil It

Hi there again!
Join us over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge with a great theme

As always you can win a $50 voucher and spend it

My projects is quite mixed-media and textured, just the way I really like it.
Check the close-ups below and a description of the steps I took.

I decided to try Nuvo Mousse as a modeling paste cause I saw this technique someday on YT and since I have a big jar of it, I could affort it :-)
You can make it with any of the stencil you like, the mousse is quite rigid but with some drops of water it's more workable and th effect is really cool.
To get even more texture, I heated it until it bubbld, I really love to do that!
It seems I am still inspired by the last week's theme OMBRE and I colored the background with 2 tones of Distress Sprays: brown and yellow.

I also covered the background with a thin layer of white gesso to give it a softer look and stamped randomly with Distress Oxide using clear embossing powder.
Then I cut out Sizzix Layered Butterfly out of my background and gave it a colorful look using oxides as well. Finally smeared the same Nuvo Mousse all over the background and the butterfly and added some metal details.

Hi there and join us over Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
This week we are getting ispired by colors made as...

As it is the first week of the month
we are showcasing a particular brand/designer.
This week we are all using products from the fabulous Dina Wakley
You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them
we would love to see them used!

As always you can win a $50 voucher and spend it

I really loved the process of making this project and I really love those tags.
I wanted to keep the earth tones on my background so used
several shades of browns, cream and beige.

First I covered my tag with a thin layer of white gesso.
Then I used my new Dina Wakley Guts stencil and applied a crackle paste.
I left it to dry overnight (which was the hardest part of the project!)
cause I wanted to get a really nice and antural crackles.
The next day I colored the tag with Distress inks, sprays and paints.
Finally I applied pieces of Botanical Collage paper
and glued them with gel medium.

As I needed a square and bold frame for Dina Wakley Collage Words,
I had to make it by myself cause I only have some rectangle ones.
I cut 4 pieces of a Thorn paper Sizzix Bigz out from my cat's meal box.
I trimmed them and joined with staples, covered with white gesso giving
an irregular texture, painted with a pearl base and then added yellow colors making the frame also ombre which is not well shown on pics.

Finally I placed the Dina Wakley Collage Words insade the frame
and covered with Ranger Rock Candy which I lately love!
Added some flowers from Idea-ology Botanical and a Paper Doll.
Splashed it all with Distress Picked Fence.
